What Are the Examinations for Vitiligo Patients
In the researches work for vitiligo patients, we have found that there are many laboratory inspections abnormal phenomena. Although these abnormal phenomena are almost nonspecific, these diagnosis are of certain significance to vitiligo treatment and pathogenesis researches.
The checks include:
Blood inspection: it is necessary for patients to do some blood inspections before and during treatments. Then you can find out abnormal phenomena or potential disease lesions. Find out the causes can improve cure rate and is favorable to vitiligo recovery.
First, blood gas analysis: PH measure: vitiligo patients blood PH is lower than normal people.
Second, blood routine test: most vitiligo patients have anemia phenomenon. The leukocyte and blood platelet will decrease.
Third, immunity checks: We have found that there are various kinds of autoantibody in vitiligo patients’ serum. These circumstances indicate that it is necessary to do some blood tests before vitiligo treatment.
Trace elements inspection: By comparing vitiligo patients’ hair with normal people’ hair, we have found that the trace element copper is quite different. For vitiligo patients, the average level is 8.6898µg/g, and normal people is about 10.0703µ/g, which means the onset of vitiligo is closely related to low copper. By test, we also found that zinc, manganese, stannum levels have no obvious difference between normal people and vitiligo patients. Besides, serum copper oxidase activity decreases, serum monoamine oxidase increases, serum copper blue protein increases, and chromosomal aberration. Some vitiligo patients also have microcirculation obstacle.
Wood lamp inspection:wood lamp is helpful to judge pigment composure subtle difference. Melanin can absorb whole wave ultraviolet ray. If melanin decreases, refraction will be strong and present light color. If melanin increases, the refraction will be weak and present dead color. Wood lamp can be used to check melanin color. For example, we can check dermis pigment damage. During irradiation, there will be no this reaction in epidermis. According to this phenomenon, we can confirm melanin place. Under wood light, vitiligo epidermis pigment changes are obvious than that under light. And dermis pigment is not obvious under wood light.
