How to Distinguish between Progressive and Stable Vitiligo
Clinical vitiligo is divided into two stages, namely progressive stage and stable stage. It is very beneficial for the prevention and treatment of vitiligo to accurately distinguish the progressive and stable stages of vitiligo. The following will elaborate on the two stages of white spot.
Progressive vitiligo
Features
1. The patient has increased white spots, the original white spots gradually move to normal skin, expand, and the boundary is blurred.
2. Patients suffering from trauma or mechanical stimulation (such as friction), which can lead to the expansion of the original white spots, or new white spots on the original normal skin, medically called "isomeric reaction".
Stable vitiligo
Features
1. The patient's white patches stopped developing, the boundary was clear, and the margin pigment of the leukoplakia was deepened.
2. Patients with white patches will not have and isoform reaction due to external application of medicine or mechanical stimulation, so external application of drugs can be used to promote the transformation of stable white patches to the improvement period.
3. In the improvement stage, the white spot boundary is clear, the edge pigment is deepened, and the pigment band appears, the latter gradually moves to the center of the white spot and the white spot shrinks inward, and the number of white spots slowly decreases.
The stable and progressive stages of vitiligo are not absolute and often alternate. Vitiligo is in different periods, its treatment principles and means are different, so the staging treatment of vitiligo is very important. Whether in the advanced stage or stable period should follow the doctor's treatment method to adhere to the treatment, remember not to take drugs randomly, blind treatment.
