Do You Know Halo Nevus ,Is It Related to Vitiligo

Many people can not distinguish the halo nevus and vitiligo. some people will mistake halo nevus for vitiligo , and get nervous to not sleep and eat ; Some people will mistake vitiligo for halo nevus , thereby delaying the best time to treat vitiligo. So is halo nevus after all vitiligo ? What does it and vitiligo have in the end? What about all the connections ?

Halo is a special melanocyte, surrounded by a circular or oval, usually symmetrical depigmentation halo. Moles themselves can also fade and turn white  It occurs mainly in the trunk , especially on the back, and occasionally on the face, with multiple skin lesions in about half of cases. Men and women，young and old can get halo nevus, to children, young adults  it is more common.

Ø Stage 1 shows pigmented nevus surrounded by decolorization

Ø Stage 2 shows a pink mole surrounded by a decolorized halo

Ø Stage 3 depigmentation area accompanied by disappearance of nevus.

Ø Stage 4 shows normal appearance of skin after halo .

The difference between halo nevus centered on pigment and vitiligo is that the latter is vitiligo, which occasionally affects the skin around or near the nevus. Nevus and vitiligo can also exist. The occurrence and development have nothing to do with halo nevus, but in patients with a family history of vitiligo, the survival rate of halo is higher. Halo nevus generally do not need treatment, but if halo nevus accompanied by vitilig , which should be treated according to the white patches.
