Feel Itchiness for Vitiligo patient
Vitiligo is a disease that causes the loss of skin color in blotches, but sometimes you will feel painful at the white patches area. The extent and rate of color loss from vitiligo is unpredictable. It can affect the skin on any part of your body. It may also affect hair, the inside of the mouth and even the eyes. Sometimes you will feel itchiness on your white spot area, or after the sunburn, after applying some cream.
The main sign of vitiligo is color (pigment) loss that produces light or white patches on your skin.There are two major reasons when you feel itch at white patches area, the first reasons is the skin can not resist the UV light, when the skin lack of the melanin. After the sunburn, it will cause some inflammatory of the skin, so you will feel burning pain, or there are some blister on the skin surface. If the vitiligo patients feel itch with no stimulation by other outer environment factors. It means the condition of illness has developed.
Some of the vitiligo patients apply the external drugs at the white patches during the treatment, these kind of drugs have phototoxicity and photosensitiveness. The drugs will stimulate skin under the irradiation of the UV light, and activate the tyrosinase and make the melancytes produce the melanin. Because of the inflammatory factors, you will feel itch at the white patches area. The sense of the itchiness is normal reaction after the treatment. It means the white patches will not develop any more. when you feel itchiness, it may due to applying some cream during the treatment of vitiligo, or the white patches exposed too much UV light.
