What Induces the Isomorphic Reaction of Vitiligo

The isomorphic reaction of vitiligo is a phenomenon in which the skin is mechanically stimulated and white spots or the original white spots are enlarged and increased on the normal skin after trauma.

Although the mechanism of the isomorphic reaction is not very clear, the research data suggest that may be an autoimmune phenomenon. There are many factors that induce isomorphic reaction, and the secondary isomorphic reaction after the stimulation of external lotion and various causes of skin inflammation (such as eczema, atopic dermatitis) is the most, the other factors are surgical stimulation, trauma, mechanical pressure or massage, and local infection.

Most of the white spots induced by the isomorphic reaction are confined to the inflammation or trauma site, and gradually expand to the four sides, or the normal skin in the distant part of the white spot damage gradually.
